On Pencil Skirts.

Pencil skirts are gorgeous.  They're sleek, and sexy, while being totally professional and ladylike.
And I never wear them.

I never wear them because they restrict my movement, and I can't jump or climb on things.  I never wear them because I have to take tiny little steps in them, instead of sprinting for the bus or the metro doors.  I never wear them because it's hard to bend and sit, and I can't grab five minutes of extra playtime with Baby Girl before I leave.

I guess I won't achieve the sexy, sleek, sophisticated, and enviable look of a pencil skirt.  Oh well.  On the other hand, I get the shot, catch the bus, and play with Baby Girl.

Life's a trade-off.

*Then again, there might be a day in the future that I try. Never say never, right?*

  1. IMO, you've achieved the "sexy, sleek, sophisticated, and enviable look" without the pencil skirt.

  2. I'm with you! Give me a skirt that allows me to move-- it beats sleekness any time. And I adore how the fuller skirts look as you styled them, with layers-- tee, sweater, tights & boots. Perfection!!

  5. so in agreement - the pencil skirt is not my friend. They look hideous on me, and they are not comfortable to wear. Give me a flowing skirt anytime!

  7. I have pencil skirts in every color almost...haha. Although the restricted leg movement doesn't bother me, I do have a pencil skirt made of a sweater material that's stretchy. A stretchy pencil skirt might work for you.
