It's All About Interest
30.3.15
Jacket & Shirt - UO
// Fedora - ThreadSence
// Pants - Zara // Boots - Aldo // Earrings & rings - I forget *old*
Sometimes, rarely, I do enjoy wearing an all black ensemble. But whenever I do monochrome, I love playing with textures upon textures. Sequins, wool, fur, and pleather....did I miss anything?
It's just interest I guess. I love to see some interest in clothing. When there's textures, or colors, there's interest, feeling, and a sense of that individual's attitude for the eve. I don't presume to encourage people to judge by the cover, but it's fun to say something about your state of mind at this particular moment.
Mine was all about the party.

Why Ask Why
22.1.14
Shirt & Leather like pants - Zara // Boots - Call It Spring // Black cuff - EBay // Grey Metal Bracelet - Threadsence
Remember when I told you we're firmly in that "Why" stage? Well, it's truly and firmly engraved. Changing her diaper while she was sleeping, I rolled her over and she ejected a spontaneous "why?!" in her sleep.
I whispered, "Because it stinks."
Pretty sure she didn't hear me though.
Clearly I'm A Very Disturbed Individual

Netflix, the on demand tv subscription, provides suggestions based on what you watch. I think Netflix must be seriously concerned about my mental health. Either that or it thinks I'm a morbid, serial killing, pedophile, with a post-apocalyptic obsession. Oh and Buffy - 'cause my Mom watched that while she was here.
Tunic - Free People // Leggings - Lush // Beanie - Tristan // Boots - Call It Spring // Necklace - Vanessa Mooney // Belt - came with a dress
"Because you watched The Following" - it recommends documentaries, reality tv shows, and movies all about serial killing.
"Because you watched Cabin In The Woods" - it recommends every horror show and movie ever.
"Because you watched Dual Survivor" - it's recommended tons of reality and fiction apocalyptic and 'prep for the apocalypse' shows.
"Because you watched Daniel Tigers Neighborhood, Super Why, and Dora"- it recommends all the children's shows.
Yeah. I'm pretty sure that Netflix not only thinks of me as a disturbed individual with violent, apocalyptic, and children's obsessions, but it actively promotes those obsessions.
I'm kind of embarrassed to show anyone my Netflix account. More than my underwear drawer. At least that's all clean. My Netlfix recommendations on the other hand....

A Tribal Cardigan and Star Wars Tank Will Not Win a Toddler Over
19.11.13
Tribal Cardigan - Fate via Shopsosie // Star Wars tank, Earrings, & Necklace - F21 // Pleather leggings - Lush via Threadsence // Boots - Call It Spring
Even a cozy tribal, aztec cardigan *which my daughter likes to cuddle in* wasn't enough when I came home. She had been having fun all day, and when mommy came home she was having none of it. She came up, and instead of the usual hug, I got a firm shove out the front door.
That did not feel good.
And then the following day she did not want me to leave. Ugh, kid, can you make up your mind? It's really tough when you play roly poly with my emotions like this.
She's lucky she's cute.
And that I have a steady supply of wine and chocolate.
On A Steel Horse I Ride
23.9.13
Jacket & Pants - Zara// Top - Calvin Klein // Boots - Call It Spring // Necklace - Threadsence
Leather, or rather pleather, pants are possibly the greatest thing ever. I love that with modern tech they are stretchy enough for full range of movement. One day I saw these. The second I put them on I felt like Bon Jovi about to go out and sing "Wanted Dead or Alive" before heading out on my motorcycle. *'Cause that's what Bon Jovi always does in my head* So of course, I was sold.
And here I am breaking more of my own rules by wearing two major pieces of an outfit - jacket and pants - from the same store. But hey, rules are made to be broken right. That's what Bon Jovi and I are all about.
Casual Glam with Pleather Pants
11.9.13
Pants, Clutch & Shoes - H&M // Top - Zara // Jacket - F21 // Bracelet - c/o Atterley Road
Toronto is in the midst of it's International Film Festival. That means, screenings and events galore. My favorite kind of industry or TIFF party is the kind that calls for what I like to call, "casual glam." To me that's when you get dressed up and glamorous up but not in a formal dress kind of way. I love that I could take out my new pleather pants out for a spin for just such a party.
I think you'll be seeing pleather pants a lot from me this season. I love leather and pleather accents and now they're everywhere! Used to be that I would find that single gem semi-annually that had pleather accents. Id' snap it up in a second. And now it's everywhere. For a pleather hog like me it's a veritable wonderland!
p.s. I tried to do Jon at Evoke Salon proud by recreating the soft waves look he gave me after my recent haircut. Passable, but there's no substitute for the pro!
