F*** It!
21.9.15
There's this thing that happens...when you think about something for too long. It becomes the only thing you think about. It takes on a life of it's own. So what you need to do is take that thing - whether it be a person, an event, a job, whatever - take that thing and say. "F**k it!"
You Say That Like It's a Bad Thing
31.8.15
Many people, most really, when they first meet me are surprised to learn about the raging nerd I am.
Cheeky
24.6.15
Who doesn't love being a little cheeky? A little coy and innocent on the outside but a tempest of wit and salaciousness inside?
Enter the French brand, Lochers. Because who else does the cheeky innocent better than the French.

My girl started school last Thursday. *Thank you to everyone who has shown such support through emails, tweets, and comments. It's so wonderful to have you as part of the extended family* I wasn't there for the first ever drop off, as I was at an audition. But Andrew dropped her off. She didn't want to go. She resisted going into class, and eventually, when everyone was inside, he had to place her in class and just close the door. When he left she was sitting in a corner sucking her thumb.
But when we picked her up, she was happy and smiling, and told us excitedly about the things that she did that day. The teacher told us she was right into everything and had no problems.
Then the next morning came. I had to drop her off by myself. She didn't want to leave the house - hiding under a blanket for protection. I had to threaten her : go to school, or sit in your room all day. She went to school. Cried on the way there, cried when I tried to take her to her class. Hid behind me. I had to slowly push her towards the door over a period of five minutes, until she was just inside then I had to leave quickly. My last sight of her that morning was her crying after me.
Picking her up, she had a great day again. Went to the library, played, again the teacher said a fabulous day.
So this is what gets me. She has great days, but cries and doesn't want to go in the morning.
*Sigh*
*Double sigh*
Arrested, Hooted, and Bankrupt
27.8.14
Tunic Dress - Arnhem // Shorts & Bag - Target // Necklace, Large Silver Ring - ThreadSence
// Sunnies, Colored Stones Ring, Leaf Ring - F21
This gorgeous top is supposed to be a dress. It's one of those beachy, devil may care boho dresses. Sadly, I'm actually quite tall and don't spend my days on a beach in a photoshoot. Why would this matter? I'm so glad you asked.
It matters because the tallness means that it's rather short. Like, just-covers-my-butt short. Which would be fine, on a beach, with a bathing suit underneath. But my day to day is spent with my girl, or running/biking around this fair city without a bathing suit on, or in studio. That means any arms gestures, such as the one above, would have me exposing my undies to children on the playground, pedestrians and drivers on the street, and clients in a studio.
And I certainly do not want to be arrested, hooted at from trucks, or bankrupt my business.
Hence, shorts.
What Is A 'Hot Mess'

Fringe Kimono - SheInside
// Floral Tank - c/o Ever. Mi. Crush // Textured Pants - FreePeople
// Suede Panama Hat - UrbanOutfitters
// Sandals - F21 // Red Necklace - I forget // Skull Necklace - Monserat de Lucca // Backpack - Stela 9
What do you think of when you hear 'hot mess"? Is it someone in disarray but who has some semblance of charm or beauty? If so, I'd like to think that you'd think of me. Hopefully.
This odd, nerdy, and yes, often klutzy girl can be found trying to take a picture with her backpack falling off. Catching her hat, like it's supposed to magically save the backpack. Opposite directions really!
C'est la vie. *sigh*

The link up was a bit of a failure. I think that means you guys just want some inspiration. Which is totally cool with me! So I'm going to continue breaking fashion rules, and if you'd like to join me leave your link in the comments and I'll be sure to check them out. 'Cause I love seeing what you do too.
Next week I'm breaking a rule from the 50's that said you should never wear high heels with cropped pants. Apparently the connotation was that you were more than a bit promiscuous. So I'm breakin' that rule next week before it gets too cold to do so.
Pull Over I've Got To Throw Up
15.8.13
Skirt - One Rad Girl // Top - I forget *old* // Necklace - F21 // Shoes - Threadsence
I was headed to set again this fine morning *so that means no hair or makeup done* and we had to pull over because our girl suffers from the same things I did when I was a child - car sickness. So we had to let her out of the car to run around after she had thrown up *she was fine two seconds after*, and I figured that was as good a time as any to take some outfit shots.
Here I am folks, in my bright nerd glory. On set one of the guys turned to me and said, "You really are such a nerd." I answered, "Yes, yes I am."
Unecessarily Long Story Of One Dress
29.7.13
Dress -Evil Twin via Threadsence // Boots - Feet First // Sunnies - F21
Once upon a time I was perusing the internet fashion shops again and a saw a dress. It was fascinating. It wasn't cute, or sexy, or beautiful, or sweet. It didn't grab me in any of those ways. It sparked my curiosity and my imagination. It was unique. It had strange cut outs and slits, and strange tie dyed patterns. I didn't know what to make of it except that I stared at it for a long long time.
I didn't know if I would ever wear it. But it didn't matter as it was far too expensive for me. *at $126 it's more than this artist can afford to spend on one dress*
Several months later it was in the sale section of the site. Again, I looked at it for a long long time. I wasn't sure it would be something I would ever really wear. Would it just be a waste of money and hang ignored in my closet? Would this be one of those things I would kick myself for later? I didn't know. But even the sale price wasn't enough for me to risk it. Even for this fascinating dress.
Then. Then it happened. A huge semi-annual blow out. The second I clicked on the blow out and saw this dress in the listings for $15 and in my size I knew that there could be no more hesitation. It was kismet. This dress had intrigued me for months. I was absorbed in the architectural detail of it. And I knew that even if I never wore it, if I thought it a mistake later, my curiosity was worth the $15.
It was fate. Now the dress and I have met, and we love each other. We know we are two peas in a pod. Two weird, fascinating creatures finally come together.

Stay Cool WIth Star Wars
25.7.13
Tank, Sunnies, Yellow Bracelet & Shorts - F21 // Shoes - ModCloth // Bag - Threadsence // Pink Cuff - Brandy Melville
The heat and humidity are killin' my style. I'm trying my best to stay cool, and stay upbeat. *I find the humidity oppressive* Most days I want to lounge around in front of my fan wearing the absolute bare minimum that courtesy will let me get away with. But going out to a script read through means that I need to get dressed. And I did, but my brain was not focusing on anything. I barely made out the words on the script in front of me. It was rough. Though Star Wars always helps!
If you have any, I would love your styling stay cool tips!
Heat Wave Dressing
18.7.13
Dress - Lace Affair // Shoes - ModCloth // Bag & Necklace - Threadsence // Bracelets & Sunnies - F21
We're in the middle of a heat wave here. And when forced to wear clothes I am reaching for light, white, and as little as possible. So this simple dress seemed perfect. And of course I couldn't resist wearing out my fabulous new purse. I've been eying it for a while, but when it went on a super duper sale, I didn't think twice! I love a purse that has so much detail and texture. It's shiny faux leather on the sides, fabric down the front and back, and the top orange flap is a kind of furry faux animal skin.
Weird and funky pieces seem to be drawing me in recently. I don't think it'll stop. I think I'm going through a slight style transition. Much further away from the sweeter dressing in the past, towards I don't know what. We'll see.
