I've recently been going down the best rabbit hole ever. And I do mean that. I've been spending time on Lyst. It's seriously like a fashionista's online Mecca. You create an account and answer a whole bunch of questions about which designers you like and don't like, then your own private boutique is curated for you. Basically, Lyst scours a whole ton of online shops and puts them all in one place. Imagine, instead of tons and tons of boutiques spread across they're all in one place - like a mall - but so much more awesome because no one steps on your toes.

I have a few. Those standards go-tos. You know, the ones you reach for without really thinking. Obviously, my Polish scarf is on that list. As is a gorgeous black one from Kish & Evie - you'll be seeing that a lot this Winter.

I don't like it when I think too much about others expectations of me.
It's a trap! *and I said that like in Star Wars, by the way*
But you know, sometimes I fall into it as well. I become a little too preoccupied with playing the game, or behaving how others expect me too. And then I get frustrated and grumpy.

It was so warm and lovely and I was frankly really excited to finally wear all my lovely new Spell purchases. It's been so cold, and I was just itching to get a chance to wear all this pretty stuff.
Honestly, what's more perfect than a backless ruffled dress for a day spent at the beach and the pool? Nothing. Except maybe one of those delicious mojitos they offered. Those were amazing. As were the Jamaican patties...
...wait, why did I come back again?

Still desolate, still snowy ice caps, but it's a beach. The wind was cold and howling but.... It's a beach and it's not covered with piles and piles of snow. It's a beach. That in itself makes me very happy.
What's making you happy today?

The Air on Me: A Maxi Skirt Outfit

The brilliant lovely light and color of the world waking up from it's deep Winter slumber. I can't tell you how excited I am to see the snow melting and the animals coming out more. My own style and aesthetic has never been one for layers of sweaters and scarves. I feel best with small, light pieces of clothing on. Flowy skirts, little dresses, shorts, and kimonos. I live for Spring and Summer both emotionally and sartorially. And it's lovely to think that I can shed those layers and feel the air on my skin again very soon.
Trying But Not Too Much: Events That Aren't Too Fancy

Beaded Sequined Top - UO
// Jeans - Lucky Brand // Boots - Browns // Bag - Target // Earrings - ThreadSence
I had the pleasure of meeting up with a girlfriend for an exclusive fashion show preview. Quelle beautiful fun! It was a fairly intimate event that didn't call for the most glamorous of get-ups, but still required a bit more effort. So skinny jeans, thigh high boots, and a sequined top seemed like the perfect way to say that I tried, but not too much.
As much as I love the fact that my daily life calls for super casual, I love to dress up. So when given the chance I'm all over it. I would've worn a freakin' ball gown if not for the fact that it's Winter, and therefore freezing.
Merci.
Xoxo

No surprise, I would love to be in a Star Wars film, and put my sword skills to good use with a light saber. That dream is right up there with being in a Star trek show/movie, and fighting Jet Li in a scene - any scene. If I could achieve all three of those, I could die right there and then a happy woman.
In the meantime, I'll snap up little things like this hooded blanket scarf that allow me to play subtle Jedi knight dress up in my daily life.
What's that line? "If you build it, they will come." If I wear it, Yoda will come?

Year Round Closet

Romper - ThreadSence
// Jacket - I forget, it's old // Sweater - Guess // Hat & Boots - Aldo // Necklace Monserat de Lucca // Bag - Target
I know some people rotate their closets for the seasons, but I don't really do that. Sure I put away any halter tops and bikinis, but otherwise it all stays in there because I just wear it differently. This romper for example, it's backless and strappy, and made for summer, so in the summer that's how I wear it. But it's such a great print and I love the cut that to put it away for half the year seems a shame. Enter layering.
A cami underneath, and a sweater and jacket combo on top and I'm ready to rock it for Fall. Who says you can't have your closet year round!

Okay, I know you can't see my shoes. I know that. I took the photos in a field of flowers and forgot to make sure you could see my shoes. Can I just tell you that I'm wearing brown and beige strap sandals? Would that suffice this time?
I hope so, 'cause this was a casual day that turned into a hectic running around the city with my toddler kind of day. And so I forgot the shoes.
