Sustainable When Possible

I don't know if you know that the fashion industry is one of the worst polluters. Our cheap clothes are made in a way that damages our environment, and damages our fellow humans *low wages, and poor working conditions.*  It's true. As part of that industry, I try to be mindful of buying sustainable or fair trade, or both when I can.  I'm not perfect, clearly, but it is something I keep in mind and make conscious choices when I can.

Frak, I'm Growing or Something

It's quiet here. And not in a good way.

F*** It!

There's this thing that happens...when you think about something for too long.  It becomes the only thing you think about. It takes on a life of it's own. So what you need to do is take that thing - whether it be a person, an event, a job, whatever - take that thing and say. "F**k it!"

Age Appropriate, Who Cares Anymore?

There's this time where I was really concerned about whether what I was wearing was age appropriate.


But recently, I just don't care.  I am who I am and that's just that.  I've never been a booty short kind of girl, so there's really no fear of my being that kind of woman.  Otherwise, braided buns over 30 with boho dresses? Why the heck not?  You just gotta be who you are you know?

Winter Unicorn

Here's a quick outfit from a couple of days ago, you know before it got too cold to breathe.  It was a unicorn of a Winter day: I could wear bare legs.  Crazy I know!

The day also made me realize that I miss wearing dresses.  But frankly my dear, it's too cold.  Right now, I'm into the double pants, or thermal long underwear scene.

Or just bundling up in front of the space heater and never leaving the house. 

Throes of Winter

Now that we're in the deep throes of Winter, I'm drawn to simple, monochromatic, and cozy.  Layers, layers, layers - that's the name of the game.  Chunky knits and things that pile on to add warmth.

Basically, I'm turning myself into a big marshmallow puff ball, if possible.

Jedi Knight Fashion

No surprise, I would love to be in a Star Wars film, and put my sword skills to good use with a light saber.  That dream is right up there with being in a Star trek show/movie, and fighting Jet Li in a scene - any scene.  If I could achieve all three of those, I could die right there and then a happy woman.

In the meantime, I'll snap up little things like this hooded blanket scarf that allow me to play subtle Jedi knight dress up in my daily life.

What's that line? "If you build it, they will come."  If I wear it, Yoda will come?

It's That Time of Year

That time where it gets so cold that I can barely stand leaving my house.  That time where I literally run outside for two minutes to grab outfit photos because that's all I can bare.  Yup, it's that time.  Where I laugh and shake my head at my own stupidity for going outside at all.

Spiritual Boost?

With the cold I've retreated to the comfort of sweaters and jeans.  My health is still not super great, so staying comfortable and cozy is a must needed boost to the spirits.  And super soft, jersey sweaters are kind of awesome for that.

You guys have any favorite go-to things for comfort and spiritual healing?  Things that make the soul feel good?  I love tea, but would love some more tips.

Well,  there you have it.  Snow has come.  We had a big snowfall.  You know what that means?  No more denial for me.  I can no longer deny that the cold temperatures are here to stay, try as I might.

For a while there, I could ignore the frozen fingers as they worked the tripod and buttons, but once you're getting snowed on and the scenery is pure white, well, there's only so far delusions can take you, am I right?

Or maybe I'm not trying hard enough.

....how about bringing it all together?   The previous post was about maxis, and the one before that was about faux fur, somehow it feels like the perfect third part to bring maxis and faux animal into one outfit and one post, with this maxi leopard print skirt.

You would think genius like this is pre-planned, but you'd be wrong.  Yup, this three parter is brought to you entirely by happenstance and the weird, idiosyncratic workings of my mind.  I mean, er, yeah I totally planned this.

Aaaaaand, that's the end of the genius.
It was very short lived.
Also, debatable if it was actually genius, but we'll just give me that one, shall we?
