Hey Sports Fans? *A Parody*

So a girlfriend told me about this woman that does parodies of sports shirts. They parody the team logo and name. I, of course, bought the one for the Toronto Blue Jays.

Star Wars, Mini skirts, and Toques.

Perhaps not the most logical of things to put together. But despite my love of all things Vulcan *yes, I did reference Star Trek in a Star Wars post, the two can get along, let's move on* logic does not always motivate my actions. Often it's whim, gut, and in the case of fashion, pure whimsy.

There's this thing that happens...when you think about something for too long.  It becomes the only thing you think about. It takes on a life of it's own. So what you need to do is take that thing - whether it be a person, an event, a job, whatever - take that thing and say. "F**k it!"

The Air on Me: A Maxi Skirt Outfit

The brilliant lovely light and color of the world waking up from it's deep Winter slumber.  I can't tell you how excited I am to see the snow melting and the animals coming out more.  My own style and aesthetic has never been one for layers of sweaters and scarves.  I feel best with small, light pieces of clothing on.  Flowy skirts, little dresses, shorts, and kimonos.  I live for Spring and Summer both emotionally and sartorially.  And it's lovely to think that I can shed those layers and feel the air on my skin again very soon.

Walking around Espanola Way and the rest of South Beach in my graphic tank from Love Nail Tree was somewhat satisfying to me.  This particular one is about the perversion, and decline, of the Amderican Dream; so, I found it humorous to be a Canadian walking around with this on.

But of course, no one noticed, they were too bust looking at the fabulous skirt from Arnhem.  Loved thie fabulous way it just swished with me.

Staying Chic in the Winter with Maxi Skirts and Dresses

Sometimes I think I'm completely crazy.  On this day, on one of the coldest Februarys on record, I took off all my layers and posed for the camera to grab outfit shots.  Yup, completely certifiable.

But seriously, maxi skirts and dresses are a great way to stay chic during the colder months because they look great but also allow for leggings and thigh high wool socks underneath....which you can bet that I had on!  It's all about the layers and layers I tell ya.

What's awesome is that right now, I'm in Miami.  Enjoying the much warmer temps.  See you in a few days and expect some much warmer and funner pictures.  Ones where I'm not wondernig if I've gotten frostbite on my clavicle.

Well,  there you have it.  Snow has come.  We had a big snowfall.  You know what that means?  No more denial for me.  I can no longer deny that the cold temperatures are here to stay, try as I might.

For a while there, I could ignore the frozen fingers as they worked the tripod and buttons, but once you're getting snowed on and the scenery is pure white, well, there's only so far delusions can take you, am I right?

Or maybe I'm not trying hard enough.

....how about bringing it all together?   The previous post was about maxis, and the one before that was about faux fur, somehow it feels like the perfect third part to bring maxis and faux animal into one outfit and one post, with this maxi leopard print skirt.

You would think genius like this is pre-planned, but you'd be wrong.  Yup, this three parter is brought to you entirely by happenstance and the weird, idiosyncratic workings of my mind.  I mean, er, yeah I totally planned this.

Aaaaaand, that's the end of the genius.
It was very short lived.
Also, debatable if it was actually genius, but we'll just give me that one, shall we?

How Do You Know Someone Loves You?

"Yup."

There you have it.  That's how you know someone loves you.

Unwanted Attention

 Often when downtown I look for little nooks and crannies where I can take some interesting shots without too much of an audience.  I found this spot tucked away around the corner of an apartment building.  Setting up my framing and my tripod, I was just about ready to go, when a security guard came out to investigate.  Apparently there are security cameras in that area and I caught their attention.  I smiled and explained what I was doing, and the guard simply waved me on and went back inside.

Clearly, a blogger is beyond their concern....and that's good for me.
